Blood Clinic - Twice a week only:
- Tuesday 8:30 - 10:30 - contact the surgery for appointment
- Thursday 8:30 - 10:30 - contact the surgery for appointment
Routine Appointments - These are appointments booked in advance by patients to see a Doctor or Nurse of their choice.
Same Day Appointments - there are a limited number of same day appointments for every surgery – these appointments are for patients that need medical treatment that day and cannot wait for the next routine appointment.
Triage Appointments - on a Monday morning Dr Dhillon will talk to patients over the telephone and triage their call if they do need to be examined an appointment will be arranged, if Dr Dhillon can sort the problem out on the telephone she will do so. More patients can be telephoned triaged than seen face to face so we are hoping this will decrease the waiting time for patients to get advice from a GP.
Home visits are for patients who are too unwell to attend surgery - Telephone before 10am. Doctor or Nurse will contact the patient by telephone prior to any visit. Please note several patients can be seen in surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit. Also the Doctor has more ease of access for communication and equipment at the surgery
Telephone Appointments - Patients are given a time to telephone the GP/Nurse and have a telephone consultation.
Extended Hours Service (EHS)
Limbrick Wood Surgery have formed an alliance with a number of Practices across the city and are now able to offer appointments between 6.30pm and 9.30pm between Monday to Friday and at daytime on Saturday 9am to 12 noon and Sunday 10am to 1pm. These additional clinics are based on the ground floor of the City of Coventry Health Centre and 60 Station Avenue, Tile Hill and are manned by GPs working across the City. If you wish to benefit from these appointments please contact our reception team before 6.30pm on Monday to Friday.
The advantage of this service is that, because the appointment is made during surgery opening hours, the patient’s notes, including allergies, all medications and the latest test results, are sent to the EHS, so the outcome is much more satisfactory.
Out of Hours Service - When the surgery is closed the Practice is now provided by a new service called NHS 111 this three digit telephone number is free from both landlines and mobiles. In future all patients will only have three telephone numbers to remember for care and advice when their surgery is closed. The practice telephone number ie 024 76460800, NHS 111. and for life threatening medical emergencies please call 999
Walk-in-Centre for help and advice is open from 8am until 9pm and operates 7 days a week. The centre is based at the City of Coventry Health Centre, 2 Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry CV1 4FS Tel: 0300 200 0060
Accident & Emergency, University Hospital of Coventry & Warwickshire - the department is purely for emergencies this does not include illnesses that can be treated at your GP surgery. Please only attend the department if it is urgent. Please do not attend the department just because your doctor's surgery is closed. Most Chemists offer advice and help and also the new NHS 111 will be able to advice patients.
